Sofia Sanchez, an eleven-year-old girl from Downers Grove, Illinois, United States, was undergoing treatment at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.
Due to heart failure, the girl needed a new heart and was waiting for her turn.
Sofia wanted to recover quickly, but she also had another wish. She adored the Canadian rapper Drake and wanted to meet him.
But the girl didn’t think she would actually get to meet her idol.
While in the hospital, one day she decided to create some uplifting moments. Dragging her IV pump, the young child danced with her cousin in the hospital corridor, and a nurse filmed their dance.
Sofia learned that singer Drake had a concert in Chicago and she sent him a personal message along with her dance video.
The girl explained her health condition to her beloved singer and asked him to come to the hospital to lift her spirits.
Upon receiving the message from the girl awaiting a transplant to survive, the rapper decided to make time to visit the young girl.
When the star entered Sofia’s room, the child was speechless. Even though she had asked him to come, it was so unexpected that she couldn’t speak.
Drake was smiling all the time. “As you asked me to visit you, here I am,” said the famous rapper.
The girl’s parents captured these unforgettable moments on video. The singer chatted with his young admirer and posed for selfies with her.
