This little stool had been lying around in our garage for years—I honestly can’t even remember how it got there 🛠️.
I decided to give it a new lease on life by adding a personal and unique touch ✨.
The final result really impressed my whole family 👏. You can check it out in the article linked in the first comment 👇👇👇.
The seat of the stool was completely unusable—only the frame seemed salvageable.
So, I repaired it with wood glue and added a few screws to make it sturdier.
I reshaped the seat frame using a grinding disc, since the edges didn’t quite fit back together properly.
I crafted a new seat using a router.
I attached it to the frame using nails and glue.
I filled the central hole with a wooden dowel, which I then trimmed flush.
At first, I used a brush to paint the stool, but the result wasn’t very satisfying, so I eventually switched to a paint sprayer.
I covered the seat with foam and coffee sack fabric.
I stapled the fabric tightly, making sure it was well-stretched, then reinforced everything with decorative upholstery tacks.
To hide the fastenings, I wrapped rope around the legs.
The renovation took quite a bit of time, but the result was totally worth it.
What brought me the most joy was giving a forgotten object a second life, while adding my own creative and personal touch.
