I found this workbench in my grandparents’ garage 🛠️, and I immediately saw the hidden potential beneath its worn appearance ✨. I decided to give it a second life and put it in my bedroom.
At first, I had some doubts 🤔 about the final result, but the more I worked on the makeover, the more the piece came back to life. In the end, it became exactly what I imagined – unique, practical, and full of charm 💫.
Even my sister loved it… so much that she wanted to take it for herself! 😅 Check out the result in the article linked in the first comment 👇👇👇.
I’m sharing all the renovation steps with you.
As you can see, it was missing a leg, so I started the restoration with that.
I also made a key to be able to open the compartment.
First of all, I dealt with the wormholes by filling them with wood filler.
Then, using limewood, I repaired the broken corner.
The tabletop was too damaged, but I reinforced it with a plywood panel.
I partially removed the veneer under the compartment and reglue the back panel.
As for the legs, I fixed them with dowels.
I painted the entire piece using a spray gun, leaving the interior in its natural state.
This work took me a lot of time, but I really liked the result.
My sister loved it as well and wanted to take it for her room.
