A family living in a tribe in a stone house at the top of Mount Koşan in Turkey has been discovered by a climber. The family lives under harsh conditions, isolated from everything, in a remote corner of the world.
This family lives in a tribe on the mountain at an altitude of 2,500 meters. This astonishing family resides in a house resembling a cave, built on a hill near the summit of Mount Koşan, at the intersection of the borders of Tunceli, Bingöl, and Erzincan in Turkey.
The 80-year-old father lives with his 78-year-old wife and their 5 children. Additionally, the family has not heard from their other 5 children who left the house about twenty years ago.
The family survives with a few means of subsistence and owns a few small cattle. Winter is harsh in this region. With the help of neighboring villagers, the family manages to obtain flour, potatoes, onions, and tea through barter.
The family occasionally eats the meat from the animals they raise. Furthermore, their children have never been to school or watched television.
Without water or electricity, the family leads a rudimentary life. The father stated that if his children went to the city, they might get lost and never find their way back.
“It is very difficult to live under these conditions. Anyone with a conscience should help us. We no longer have the strength.”
The climber who discovered the family during his climb of Mount Koşan stated that this family lives in primitive conditions and that it is impossible to live at this altitude.
