From the outside, the rapid freezing of water may seem like some kind of trick, but in fact it is just the result of ordinary physics. The experimenter clearly demonstrated how you can instantly turn cold water into ice without using any tools.
The fact is that clean drinking water, freed from any impurities, can remain in a liquid state even at very low temperatures, much below zero.
This phenomenon is called supercooled liquid instability, and it occurs as a result of the absence of crystallization nuclei around which ice crystals usually form. Thanks to this, water can remain liquid even at temperatures down to -40 degrees Celsius.
In water purified from impurities, there is no special crystallization nucleus around which the freezing process usually begins to occur. This core is formed with a slight impact or even just shaking the bottle, and the water instantly turns into ice.
This effect can be observed even in everyday life. For example, if you throw an ice cube into supercooled water, the entire volume of liquid instantly crystallizes.
But it is worth remembering that this trick will not work with ordinary drinking water due to the content of various salts in it, which will lead to its freezing already in the refrigerator.
