At first, I was simply looking for a shelf for my daughter’s room, as she lacked space to store her belongings 📚.
But instead of buying something standard, I had a somewhat crazy idea 🤔: why not create a shelf from unused benches and an old crib? 🔨
With a bit of creativity, I envisioned a unique piece, perfectly tailored to her needs. And honestly, even I didn’t expect the result to be so surprising 😲.
The process and final result are detailed in the article linked in the first comment 👇👇👇.
First, I dismantled the slats from the crib.
This task took a lot of time and patience, but I was able to obtain the necessary parts.
I first sanded the slats and boards, and to facilitate this process, I cut the excess parts.
To ensure uniform spacing between the shelves, I used a template to assemble the different pieces.
I secured the slats with a nail gun, and then to hide the imperfections, I used wood filler.
In the end, a few additional shelves were needed, and that was the final step.
To make the shelf more practical, I decided to add wheels.
The final assembly made the shelf sturdier and more functional.
My daughter loved her new shelf, and her reaction was the best inspiration for me.
