😯 “Help me! Eva”: I found this note under my rose bush, and what I discovered when I entered my neighbor’s house took my breath away.
Recently, a new family moved into the house next door: a couple with their teenage daughter. They seemed like a perfect family, but sometimes I noticed the father speaking harshly and coldly to his daughter, Eva.
Once, he said to me: “Could you let Eve help you? She’s lazy. A bit of work will do her good.”
I agreed, and while she was watering my flowers, I talked with her about everything and nothing. I have to admit I liked her a lot, and she didn’t seem lazy at all.
So every Tuesday, she came to help me take care of my roses. We would drink tea together and talk a bit before she left.
One day, she told me: “I would rather live with you than at home. I feel safe here.”
I didn’t pay too much attention to it. You know, teenagers sometimes just want to live somewhere else. But the next day, I found a note under my rose bush: “Help me! Eva”
I immediately went to their house. The door was slightly open, and what I discovered took my breath away.

I entered the house just as Eva’s father slapped her.
Eva was standing near the table, eyes full of tears, her notebook on the floor, and her father facing her, very angry because she hadn’t finished her homework.
I froze for a moment, then shouted.
Everything stopped.
I took Eva’s hand and led her outside without discussion.
Then I immediately contacted the relevant services to report the situation, explaining what I had seen.
Her father was questioned by the authorities, and the family situation was taken over by the appropriate services.
He had to answer for his actions and follow mandatory supervision, while Eva was protected and removed from the abusive environment.
