For a while, the idea of redoing this old dresser had been on my mind, with the intention of incorporating it into my workshop 🛠️. Although it had a certain charm, its aging style no longer fit the atmosphere I wanted to create 🎨.
I was determined to take on the challenge and give it a new life ✨. This project allowed me to unleash my creativity while adding a unique and personal piece to my workspace.
I’m sharing the final result in the article linked in the first comment 👇👇👇.
The dresser was a bit worn but of good quality.
The top was also in poor condition, with some glass marks.
I started the work with sanding, and it didn’t take long at all.
I used a special undercoat for tannic woods to prevent tannin stains from appearing.
This helped me paint the dresser without any issues.
After this step, the dresser regained a beautiful appearance.
As for the handles, I first cleaned them, then I repainted them white.
To achieve a vintage effect, I lightly sanded them for a patina.
At first, I wanted to stain the top in oak color, but after several failed attempts, I had to restart the process a few times.
In the end, I chose a darker shade, which contrasted beautifully with the pastel color of the dresser.
This project showed me that you should never give up, even during frustrating moments.
It taught me not to abandon the project, despite the challenges.
And the result exceeded all my expectations.
