😦 I found these oval-shaped stains on one of my sweaters, and I was really panicked when I found out what they were.
Recently, I did a little tidying up in my closets and, while sorting through my clothes, I came across some sweaters I hadn’t worn in a while. Last winter was so mild that I didn’t really need them.
But as I pulled out one sweater, I noticed some strange oval stains stuck to the fabric. At first, I thought they were dried berries or seeds, maybe left by my kids. However, the smell they gave off was quite unpleasant.
Curious, I took a photo to do some online research. When I found out what they were, I was relieved I hadn’t touched them, but this experience taught me to be more cautious.
I’m sharing this story to warn you in case you come across similar stains.

I never would have imagined they were mouse droppings!
After doing my research, I discovered that those oval, sticky, dark stains were actually rodent droppings.
This was the first time I’d encountered such an issue, and I wondered how long those little creatures might have been there.
The bad smell I had noticed was, in fact, the typical scent of mouse droppings.
What worried me even more is that they can sometimes transmit diseases.
So, I hurried to wash the sweater at a high temperature, with a disinfectant, to make sure I got rid of everything.
While checking my other clothes, I also made sure to examine them carefully because I really didn’t want this to happen again.
After this incident, I became much more careful about how I store my clothes, making sure they’re kept in airtight places, far away from any little intruders.
