😦 I gave a croissant with coffee to a homeless person every day for six years: he came to my wedding, and what he did made me cry.
I have a bakery in a quiet neighborhood. When I first opened it, I noticed a homeless person staring at my croissants through the window.
Seeing him, I had the feeling I was looking at someone the world seemed to have forgotten, and I refused to do the same.
So, I decided to offer him a croissant. He took it and thanked me kindly, wishing me lots of success for my little business.
From that day on, every morning, I would see him and give him a croissant with coffee. It became a ritual for me. Even on my days off, I would ask my employee to leave him his croissant with coffee.
This went on for six years.
On the day of my wedding, as I was leaving the church, I spotted him a little away from my guests. He approached me to congratulate me, and then what he did made me break down in tears.

He handed me a small cloth napkin, carefully folded and hand-stitched at the edges.
“It belonged to my daughter. She embroidered it when she was little. I thought you might like it.”
This made me burst into tears; he was offering me the most precious thing in his life.
I accepted it with gratitude.
“Would you like to come in?” I asked him, smiling.
“To walk me to the altar?” His eyes filled with tears, and he nodded.
The ceremony was brief and joyful.
I kept the embroidered napkin in my bouquet, a symbol of the path we had walked together.
