This little wardrobe was already quite worn out, but for my grandmother, it held huge sentimental value 💖. It was a special gift from an old friend, a precious memento she could never part with. So, I decided to surprise her by turning it into something really useful 🛠️.
Taking advantage of the time she was visiting her sister, I started the transformation. The project wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. When my grandmother saw the final result, she was impressed 😍.
It was a surprise that deeply touched her 💕, and I’m happy to have given her this gift. I’m sharing the result in the article linked in the first comment 👇👇👇.
The wardrobe needed a lot of repairs, but I saw great potential in it.
The cornice was broken, and several moldings were missing.
I began the work by removing the feet.
I took out the broken cornice pieces and cut the feet.
Then, I replaced the back with a plywood panel.
To fill the gaps between the panels, I applied glue and then carefully sanded everything to achieve a clean, smooth finish.
The doors were also damaged.
I replaced the glass, which was in poor condition.
I also replaced the shelves with pine planks.
The most complex part was repairing the cornice.
The work only took a few days, but the result was exactly what I had in mind from the start.
