In general, I don’t keep old furniture.
This time, I had decided to throw away our old armchair, but my grandfather wouldn’t let me.
He believes that new furniture lacks quality and won’t stand the test of time.
He had the idea of giving this armchair a second life, instead of buying a new one.
Even though we bought it a long time ago, it was still his favorite armchair.
Every time he visited us, he would relax in that armchair.
So, he started the renovation by restoring the frame.
To remove the old paint, he used a special paint stripper, which quickly did the job.
Then, he carefully cleaned it with a brush and gel, and rinsed it with water using a hose.
The hardest part was reupholstering it.
When he finished the work, the armchair looked as if it had just come off the production line.
