When I married Caleb, he was caring and sweet, but over time, he changed. Sometimes, I wondered whether I should divorce him or keep living with him, hoping that his behavior was just a phase.
In reality, he was dealing with financial struggles, and I thought that might be the reason behind his attitude.
One day, during a party with one of his friends, our wedding song began to play. I thought it would be the perfect moment to bring back some memories and maybe shift something in our relationship.
I invited him to dance. It was a genuinely romantic moment, and I decided to take the lead and kiss him. But he pulled away so forcefully that everyone turned to look at us.
Then he shoved me and said, “I’d rather kiss our dog than you.” For a moment, I smiled, pretending not to be hurt, but what I said next left everyone speechless.

The room went silent after his words, but instead of breaking down or letting it shake me, I took a deep breath and looked Caleb directly in the eyes.
I saw the surprise in his expression, as if he wasn’t sure what to expect from me.
“You know, Caleb,” I said calmly, “I’m pregnant.”
A heavier silence fell over the room.
I could see him scrambling for words, but I wasn’t about to let him manipulate me again.
“But you know what? I’m telling you this: I’m divorcing you.
Because you don’t deserve to be the father of my child.
If you can’t respect me or treat me with dignity, there’s no way I’ll let you play any role in my life, or in the life of our baby.”
His eyes widened, but I’ll never regret that decision.
