This Wednesday, June 5, 2024, the police announced that they had found an email box and a hard drive which would be linked to the disappearance of Maddie McCann in 2007.
New twist in one of the biggest cold cases of the 21st century. On Thursday May 3, 2007, Madeleine McCann, a little girl aged three and a half, disappeared while sleeping in her parents’ hotel room in Praia da Luz in the Algarve, Portugal.
The family was on vacation and the parents were dining out that evening. Several children were in the room, but only the little girl vanished.
Seventeen years after her disappearance, the main suspect in the case is Christian Brückner, a German who lived in Praia da Luz at the time of her disappearance.
He is currently on trial at the Braunschweig court for several sexual crimes committed against women and children in Portugal between 2000 and 2017.
During his trial, this Wednesday June 5, 2024, investigator Titus Stampa declared having found a mailbox and a hard drive which belonged to the suspect. Inside the Hotmail account, emails were allegedly “related to Maddie’s murder.”
“The hard drive is also linked to this case, but I am not authorized to give more details about it ,” said the investigator and reported by The Mirror .

But the suspect allegedly deleted all emails dating from 2007, the year Maddie McCann disappeared.
