😯 My manager forgot to mute her microphone, and I heard her call me “stupid” and “incompetent” in front of my colleagues — she had no idea I could hear everything, and what I could do next.
I work as an assistant in a local company. My supervisor is a very demanding woman. I do everything I can to meet her expectations, but most of the time she remains dissatisfied, even though I carry out my work professionally.
One day, she told me there would be an important meeting, but that I couldn’t attend because there were documents in her office that needed to be reviewed and properly organized.
The meeting was taking place right in front of her office, and I could see what was happening through the glass wall. At one point, she turned on her microphone and asked me to bring her some papers.
When I returned to her office, I could hear them talking — she had forgotten to mute her mic.
She looked at the documents and said, “Damn it, how many times do I have to repeat the same thing to that idiot? She’s really useless and incompetent.”
It was obvious she was talking about me, and she had no idea I had heard everything. I was shocked, and at first, I didn’t know how to react.
Then I remembered something very important that she didn’t know about me. I decided to use it to teach her a good lesson.

In reality, the Director was a friend of one of my acquaintances, and she had been waiting for the perfect moment to bring my manager down.
I had kept that connection secret because I didn’t want anyone to think I had gotten the job through favoritism or that my skills were in question.
But this time, I decided to use that card to teach my manager a lesson.
After hearing her insults toward me, I recorded the conversation.
The next day, I scheduled a meeting with the Director and explained the situation, showing her the recording.
The Director, who already had doubts about my manager’s leadership, immediately decided to fire her.
She assured me that it was important to protect employees from abuse of power and that such behavior would never be tolerated in the company.
