😲 My neighbor drove his motorcycle across my lawn and destroyed the flowers I had been caring for in memory of my husband. Then he simply shrugged and said, “It’s okay, they’re just flowers, they’ll grow back.” The next morning, I prepared a surprise for him to teach him a lesson.
Since my husband passed away, I have been living alone. Every spring, I replant flowers in my garden in his memory. Those flowers represented nearly thirty years of memories for me.
Then my neighbor’s son moved back in with him. He was an arrogant young man who had a motorcycle. He regularly rode it around the neighborhood, sometimes across people’s lawns.
One morning, I heard the sound of his engine and came out of the house. I saw my flowers crushed and my neighbor’s son standing nearby with his motorcycle, and I shouted:
— What have you done?
— It’s okay, they’re just flowers, they’ll grow back, he said arrogantly.
I didn’t say anything to him and simply went back inside the house, but the next morning, I prepared a surprise for him to teach him a lesson.

The next morning, I placed a small wooden box in front of his door.
Inside, I had put a few flowers, along with a letter.
“You were right about one thing: flowers grow back. But some memories don’t grow back.”
I also called the town hall to report that his son had driven his motorcycle across several lawns.
A neighborhood camera had recorded the incident and also showed that he had already caused damage to other neighbors’ properties.
A few hours later, my neighbor came to my house.
He explained that he hadn’t realized how important those flowers were to me and that he was sorry.
I told him that I could forgive him, but that above all, I hoped he had finally understood that respect costs nothing.
