My neighbors couldn’t stand the color of my house and repainted it in my absence: I was furious and I got my revenge
Upon returning from a two-week vacation, Victoria was stunned to find that her brightly painted yellow house, carefully painted by her late husband, had been repainted gray by her neighbors, the Davises.
Known for their displeasure with the bright shades of her house, they had intervened during her absence.
Victoria questioned the Davises, but they categorically denied the facts. Their neighbor, Mr. Thompson, confirmed that the painting expenses had been paid using a bogus work contract in the name of the Davises.
Victoria was furious, believing that her neighbors had erased the memory of her husband with a “bucket of paint.”
She contacted the painting company for explanations.
During the trial, the company employees testified against the Davises. The court found the Davises guilty of deceit and vandalism and ordered them to repaint the house yellow and reimburse all expenses, including legal fees.
As they left the courtroom, Mrs. Davis said, “I hope you’re happy.” Victoria replied with a gentle smile, “Once my house is yellow again, I will be!”
Victoria’s determination to defend her cause was rewarded, giving color back to her house and allowing her to regain her peace of mind.
