😯 My son found these strange balls on the oak leaf, and I was surprised to discover what they were.
One day, my best friend and I decided to take our children to the forest, as they love spending time in nature.
We had prepared a little picnic, and while the kids were playing, we were chatting peacefully. Suddenly, my son shouted, “Mom, come quickly and see what I found!”
We rushed over to see what he had discovered, and on one of the leaves, we noticed small strange balls. I had no idea what they could be, and neither did my friend.
So, we took some pictures and shared them on social media, hoping to get some answers.
A few minutes later, a man commented, explaining what they were. His explanation really surprised me, as I had thought of everything except what they actually were.
I tell the whole story in detail in the article in the first comment, and I assure you that you’ll be just as amazed when you find out what they are 👇👇👇.
After sharing the photos on social media, I received a comment from a biologist.
He explained that these strange balls were galls.
These are formations that develop on plants, often in response to an insect attack.
The insects, mainly flies or wasps, lay their eggs on the leaves, causing a reaction from the plant.
The galls then form around the larvae, providing shelter and food until they emerge.
This explanation fascinated me!
I had never imagined that simple leaves could house such phenomena.
These galls can vary in shape and size, depending on the insect responsible.
In doing further research, I discovered that they are quite common on oaks, but they are rarely noticed because of their small size.
