🙄 My stepdaughter always left a little food on her plate to avoid doing the dishes, and here’s what I did.
It’s been a year now since my son got married, and they live with me. At first, I really appreciated my stepdaughter. She’s a kind and generous person, but when it comes to household chores, that’s another story.
Little by little, I noticed she had a particular habit: she always left a bit of food on her plate. She claimed she was saving it for later, but she never actually ate it.
Over time, this began to annoy me because I realized that this little trick was meant to avoid doing the dishes. So, I decided to take action.
I found a clever solution she absolutely didn’t expect. Read my story and tell me, in your opinion, did I handle it well? What would you have done in my place?
The rest of the story is in the article in the first comment 👇👇👇.
At first, I tried to explain it to her calmly, then more directly.
She just laughed and said I was overreacting.
Finally, I decided not to get angry and do something about it.
I started collecting her leftover food.
After a few days, my fridge was full of her little abandoned portions.
One day, I prepared a special dinner for her: a plate made entirely of her own leftovers, arranged like a gourmet dish.
At first, she didn’t immediately get the situation, but she burst out laughing when she saw her meal.
I decided to take it even further by giving her a few surprises: a glass of water almost empty, a remote control with half-empty batteries.
That evening, for the first time, she cleaned up all the dishes.
Since that day, she’s changed: she either eats her leftovers or throws them away, and she always cleans up after herself.
