A friendship that is sincere and genuine, lasting a lifetime… it’s so rare and beautiful! This duo is living proof😍 Olive and Kathleen, inseparable for 7️⃣8️⃣ years, recently decided to share the same retirement home so they would never have to part💕
Their story began in school. In 1941, in England, they were only 11 years old when they met at Ravenshead School in Nottingham. Fortunate enough to sit next to each other in class, they quickly became inseparable.
Little did they know they would become the best friends in the world and that their bond would continue far beyond their school years.
Yet, their friendship was so natural and authentic that their attachment lasted a lifetime! In 1989, after 35 years of marriage, Kathleen lost her husband and became a widow. She lived alone until last year, when she moved to the retirement home.
On the other hand, Olive’s husband lived 15 years longer than Kathleen’s, passing away in 2004. Olive has two daughters, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She ultimately chose to join her best friend in the same retirement home, eager to spend as much time as possible with the one who had been her rock for many years.
At 89, they are both the oldest residents of the retirement home. However, these charming ladies do not consider themselves “old”; they even seem younger than their age, thanks to their dynamism and jovial spirit.
They attribute the longevity of their friendship to a policy of non-confrontation, lots of sincerity, and communication. Now, they spend all their days together, sharing knowing laughs and a plethora of memories.
