😯 Our neighbor called a tow truck to remove our cars from our own driveway, out of pure jealousy, and here’s the lesson we gave her.

Recently, we moved into a new neighborhood. On the very first day, our neighbor came over to introduce herself. She greeted us with a big smile, but her expression changed when she saw that we had two cars parked in our driveway. She asked, in a rather jealous tone:

“Are all these cars yours?”

“Yes, one is mine, the other is my husband’s.”

She continued, visibly upset: “You know, here, every house is supposed to have just one car. It’s a neighborhood rule. One car per house.”

My husband and I exchanged surprised glances, but said nothing further. She left, but every time we came home, she would sneak out of her house, watch our cars, and then quickly return indoors.

It was clear that she was the only one who thought two cars in our driveway were a problem.

One day, while we were at home, we heard a noise. Looking out the window, we saw two tow trucks removing our cars. We rushed outside to see what was going on. And to our surprise, there was our neighbor, calmly standing in front of her door with a cup of coffee in hand, watching the scene with a nearly satisfied smile.

She had taken it upon herself to enforce this “rule” by calling the tow trucks to remove our vehicles.

Furious, we rushed over to her and warned her that this would cost her dearly. Here’s what we did in return to teach her a good lesson.

The next day, we contacted a lawyer to get advice on how to proceed.

The lawyer advised us to file a complaint for the illegal towing of our vehicles and to report our neighbor’s behavior as harassment.

We also informed the neighborhood manager about what had happened, explaining that the “one car per house” rule was neither official nor legal.

A few days later, the police summoned our neighbor to clarify the incident.

She had to pay a fine for acting without authorization, and the tow trucks had to return our cars to us free of charge.

In parallel, we informed the other neighbors about the situation, and our neighbor’s reputation was tarnished.
