The labor lasted for hours, but at last, the newborn’s first cries echoed through the room. Everything had gone well, and the baby was perfectly healthy.
The doctor gently took the child into his arms to hand the baby to Sophie, but suddenly, something strange happened.
As he was about to give her the baby, he stopped. His hands trembled slightly. He looked at the newborn’s face, then at the young woman, and his eyes filled with tears.
“Doctor, is everything okay?” Sophie asked anxiously.
