😦 “Sir, don’t stay at home when you get back! Go to a friend your wife doesn’t know, or to a hotel,” an officer told me after stopping our car and checking my wife’s documents: what I discovered afterward completely shook me.
My wife was driving at 120 miles per hour instead of 105. It was enough to attract an officer’s attention. I thought it would end with a simple warning or a fine.
When the officer approached, my wife calmly handed over her documents. He took them, stepped away, and stared at the screen with unusual intensity. Then, when he came back to us, he asked me to step out of the car to speak with him privately.
We moved a little farther away, and then he said to me, “Sir, listen to me carefully. First of all, your wife must not know about this conversation. When you get home, do not stay there. Go to a hotel or to a friend she doesn’t know.”
I couldn’t understand what was happening. He continued, “For now, I can’t explain everything, but you are in danger.” Then he slipped a folded piece of paper into my hand.
