Successful transformation: see how I gave a new life to this old, worn-out chair

For a long time, I had been seeing many restorations ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ and renovation projects for old furniture online, and I had been wanting to do something similar โœจ.

While rummaging through our garage, I found this chair, which was in very poor condition ๐Ÿ˜•. The most obvious solution would have been to get rid of it ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ, but I thought that if I could restore it, it could become a successful renovation project ๐Ÿ’ช.

I invested a lot of time and effort into this renovation โณ, and even I was impressed by the final result ๐Ÿ˜. I’m sharing it with you in the article in the first comment ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡.

First, I removed the old upholstery from the chair.

I then smoothed the surface using a sanding disc.

To make the chair more solid, I glued the parts that were loosely attached.

I then applied two coats of oil and hard wax to the frame and let it dry for a few days.

For the seat, I chose an appropriate fabric and cut it to the right size.

I made a cushion base from a piece of fabric.

The springs were in good condition, so I left them untouched.

I created a cover from synthetic padding (syntepon) for the backrest.

Next, I folded it to perfectly fit the backrest of the chair.

For the lower part, I sewed it by hand.

After all this work, the chair regained a new life.

I was able to create a comfortable and stylish chair, and it fits perfectly into the room.
