Every parent wants their child to feel comfortable in their own skin. For Dale Ranana Tautoru Haretuku, it meant making a heartfelt gesture towards his daughter, Luna.
Arizona’s dad hopes to encourage his little girl to celebrate what makes her different. So, for his birthday in February, he organized a special father-daughter photo session which has since moved thousands of people.
Luna is bald due to alopecia, a condition causing hair loss. But she is no less beautiful in Dale’s eyes. Atzimba Photography captured this feeling perfectly in a series of dazzling photos where, as a show of solidarity, Dale let Luna shave his head.
It’s clear in every frame that Dale’s heart is overflowing with love for Luna. At one point, he breaks down, overcome with emotion as his daughter prepares to use the lawn mower.
The father had previously had a ribbon of baldness shaved off his head, but he wanted to go further to show the world what he already knows: baldness is beautiful!
And they were both beautiful, without hair. Their smiles spoke volumes as they posed with matching outfits and bald heads.
The photos went viral shortly after Dale shared them on Facebook, writing: “For my birthday this week I did something special for my little girl with alopecia!!! I can never thank my family enough for their help and support.”
A flood of messages of support quickly poured in. People loved Dale and Luna’s relationship and were moved by the photos that warmed their hearts.
But no one was more moved than Luna, who knows she is a very lucky girl. After all, she has the best dad in the world!
