Lila Grace had very tangled hair, which her parents were getting more and more used to. And for nine years, they have not combed her hair, braided it, or made any special hairstyles.
The reason is that this child’s curls have been growing at a surprising rate since she was four years old. This worried the parents and prompted them to consult doctors.
It turned out that Lila suffered from a rare condition called “Uncombable Hair Syndrome.”
This meant that the growth of her hair never stopped, and the hair itself had a structure that made it impossible to comb and generally unruly.
Moreover, due to this issue, every attempt to comb her hair became a real torture for the child, accompanied by painful sensations.
Currently, Lila is nine years old. When she was younger, she didn’t understand that there was something wrong with her. But as she grew up, she had to get used to her hair and learn to love it.
Fortunately, her classmates at school got used to this peculiarity and understood that it was her distinctive feature.
Doctors assured the parents that after a certain period, the hair became manageable, and Lila could easily comb it and have a beautiful hairstyle.
It is important to note that Uncombable Hair Syndrome is extremely rare.
The first time doctors identified a person with this condition was in 1970, and so far, around a hundred cases of people affected by this syndrome have been recorded.
