I often travel for work. It usually lasts a few days, or at most a week. But the last trip lasted two weeks, and I was really exhausted when I got back.
I decided to sleep for at least two hours before unpacking my things. I woke up to the sound of a car engine. When I opened the front door, I saw dozens of bouquets of red roses in my garden.
There were one hundred roses. The first person who came to mind was my colleague Daniel. He has never said anything to me, but I have always felt that he was not indifferent toward me.
I thought he had finally dared to take the first step. I even found it a very romantic gesture to confess his feelings.
In reality, he wasn’t really my type, but after that, I decided I would give him a chance.
Then I noticed a note in one of the bouquets. I thought I would read his name or something romantic, but what I read really scared me and I immediately called the police.

A few hours later, they identified a man already known for harassment.
He had followed my movements and placed the flowers while I was away.
The police located him at his home and arrested him without resistance.
His gesture had nothing romantic about it but was the result of a disturbing obsession.
His intention was to intimidate me gradually and insert himself into my life by creating a constant feeling of being watched.
He was clearly not normal, and his obsessive behavior was deeply concerning.
When I saw him being taken away by the police, I finally felt immense relief and a real sense of safety.
