😲 After ten years of marriage, my husband looked me in the eyes and told me he loved me like a sister before asking me for a divorce. I simply accepted. Three days later, I invited him to one last farewell dinner. But when he walked into the restaurant and saw the people sitting at my table, his face turned deathly pale.
Rey and I had been married for ten years. We had a house, children, and a stable, happy life.
But little by little, he began to change. He came home late from work, constantly kept his phone in his hand, and showed almost no interest in my day. Whenever I asked him what was going on, he told me that work was stressful.
Then, one Tuesday evening, he came home and told me he wanted to talk. He said he cared about me but loved me like a sister. Then he asked me for a divorce.
I looked at him and simply replied, “Okay.”
He seemed surprised that I didn’t cry or try to convince him to stay. Yet what hurt me the most was learning that he had already found an apartment and had been planning his departure for a long time.
On Friday, I sent him a message suggesting we have one last dinner. He agreed without asking any questions.
Rey walked into the restaurant with a slight smile, but when he approached my table and saw the people accompanying me, his smile disappeared.
He stopped dead in his tracks, his face turning pale as he struggled to hide his shock. What he discovered that evening was going to change everything…

Rey stood frozen in front of our table. He looked at his best friend, Daniel, and then at Julia, his mistress, who was sitting right next to him.
His face turned deathly pale, and he immediately realized that his secret had been exposed.
“What does this mean?” he asked, looking at me.
I invited him to sit down, but he remained standing, unable to hide his discomfort.
“You told me you wanted a divorce because you loved me like a sister,” I began. “Yet all this time, you were having an affair with your best friend’s wife.”
Julia lowered her eyes. Daniel, on the other hand, looked at Rey with anger he didn’t even try to conceal.
“How long has this been going on?” he asked.
Rey didn’t answer. He ran a hand over his face and finally muttered that he had never wanted things to turn out this way.
Daniel let out a bitter laugh.
“You’ve shared my table, come to my house, and earned my trust. And all this time, you were sleeping with my wife?”
Julia tried to speak, but Daniel stopped her with a gesture.
Meanwhile, Rey turned toward me.
“Why didn’t you tell me anything sooner? We could have talked about this in private.”
I looked at him without showing any apparent anger.
“Because you had weeks to tell me the truth, and you chose to lie instead. You even planned your departure without giving me the slightest chance to understand what was happening.”
I then took out the divorce papers I had prepared and placed them in front of him.
“You wanted to end our marriage. Now you can do it without making excuses.”
He begged me to give him another chance, but my mind was made up.
I left the restaurant with my head held high.
That night, I lost the man I had loved for ten years, but I also stopped living a lie.
