“I couldn’t believe that I was holding my child in my arms, and everything was happening,” says the father excitedly

Before the wedding, Tolya and I had been together for about three years, which was a personal record for me. I had no other choice but to marry him because I was pregnant.

The day of the wedding was late autumn and quite chilly. “Here’s a little gift for you,” my aunt said, handing me two baby blankets.

“Why two?” I asked nervously. “The second one won’t be redundant,” she replied and returned to her seat.

“I don’t like it, Tolya,” I said to my husband. My aunt was known for her words that somehow came true like magic. She often predicted the future between her words.

I quickly forgot his words because I couldn’t enjoy the marriage. I suffered from morning sickness.

My belly didn’t grow from day to day or from hour to hour, but from minute to minute. I ate for seven hours, not two.

“What kind of elephant is living in there?” my husband joked, patting my belly. “With this baby’s appetite, I need to find a second job.”

The ultrasound showed that we were expecting a boy, and I was a little sad because I really wanted a girl. My husband, on the other hand, was happy to have a son. But okay…

Then came the day of delivery. I started having contractions. Everything went perfectly, and after half an hour, the doctor called out:

“Congratulations! It’s a girl!” I was delighted but also surprised because we had prepared for a boy; everything was blue, and my husband was eagerly expecting a son.

Suddenly, I realized I wasn’t feeling any better, then I saw my belly move again.

The contractions started again. “Double luck!” shouted the midwife.

You also have a son. It turns out that sometimes one baby hides behind the other, and the ultrasound only shows one baby in front of the other.

So we went to the hospital hoping to bring back our son, but we came home with a son and a daughter. My husband and I are thrilled. There is never a quiet moment in our house now.
