That morning, as usual, I was getting ready to leave for work. But this time, I decided to take my husband’s car. It had been parked behind the house for two weeks because he was on a business trip.
The morning seemed particularly calm, with no sound, as if everything had suspended in the cool air. I had the feeling that time itself had paused.

When I opened the car door, I saw an elderly woman sleeping inside.
I was both shocked and surprised, and I really didn’t know how to react.
I looked again, and it was one of our neighbors.
As I knew, she owned a house, and I couldn’t understand why she was sleeping in our car.
When she woke up and saw me, she started crying and said:
“I’m sorry, but since Charley left, I can’t sleep in my house anymore.”
