The man won the lottery jackpot, without ever purchasing a ticket. The record amount is the largest win in California lottery history.
The American store owner sold a lottery ticket worth $2 billion and received $1 million.
Previously, four lucky people won more than $1 billion in the lottery, but there has never been a jackpot of this magnitude.
“It started growing with $20 million in August 2022, which continued for several months until the bank finally ran out in November,” sources said.
The winner purchased a ticket at the Joseph Chaiyed store in Los Angeles.
A big winner can receive cash in coins or at a time in the amount of $997.6 million, and the store owner has already won a retail prize of $1 million.
“I want to thank everyone who supports me,” said the store owner.
He said he wanted to share money with his large family: children and 11 grandchildren.
According to the Interstate Association of Lottery, the odds of winning the Powerball lottery, having guessed all five numbers, are $1 million to $292.2 million.
We note an interesting fact about lotteries: the first lottery that played the cash prize took place in 1446 in Bruges (modern Belgium), the widow of the Flemish artist Jan van Eyke, who wanted to perpetuate his memory.
Anyone who purchased a ticket could attend.
