Alexis Morris will remember her decision to get a tattoo in a foreign language for a long time. The student wanted to get a certain inscription, but later accidentally found out the real translation of the phrase and was so impressed that she recorded a video about the situation.
Alexis wanted an inscription with the Arabic phrase “All this shall pass.” The tattoo was done quickly, and the very next day the girl flew to Morocco.
Here the inscription was noticed by a salesman in a local store. The man laughed for a long time, explaining that Alexis’ tattoo had almost no meaning.
كل هذا سيمر – that’s how it will be “All this will pass,” the merchant explained.
But on Alexis’s hand was emblazoned: دوام الحال من المحال, which can be translated as “Passage to the store.” The girl shared her unpleasant experience with her followers on TikTok:
@_alexusmorris_ Humbling experience to say the least🤣 #fyp #tattoo #tattoofail #embarrassing #arabictattoo #thistooshallpass #fy ♬ original sound – Alexus Morris
The blogger was far from the first to find herself in a similar situation due to tattoos in a foreign language. Arabic script is popular because of its beauty, but many Westerners simply do not know the translations.
